Arachnophobia (1990, PG-13, 103)

This movie is the scariest spider movie ever made.  Jeff Daniels stars and does a good job.  A mutant spider terrorizes a small town.  It is also one of those movies that could possibly happen.  If you hate spiders or love them, this is the movie for you.  Plus it is PG-13, so you could watch it with the kiddos.

Rosemary’s Baby (1968, R, 136)

This movie may be long, but it is Roman Polanski so it is still good.  Rosemary is a sweet girl who is married to an actor.  She gets pregnant and odd things start happening.  She starts to distrust everyone.  This movie is scary and entertaining.

High Lane (2009, ?, 90)

Not sure the official rating, but it is likely “R.”  High Lane is not an American horror movie.  At first it looks like a cheap rip off of so many other movies, but it does not disappoint.  It is about friends who go on a rock climbing adventure.  The sign says closed and they should have listened.  Again, much like so many others, but this one is good.

Deliverance (1972, R, 110)

Deliverance is basically about four men “roughing” it by going river rafting.  It is a classic and is mentioned in many other movies as a key to surviving.  Even if you have never heard of it, you are bound to know the music!  This movie is also fun to see Burt Reynolds and Jon Voight.

Shining (1980, R, 142)

Shining is very possibly the scariest movie ever made.  Stephen King wrote this classic and it may be his best.  It is about a family who lives alone in a hotel as care takers over the winter.  Jack Nicholson made the character his own.  This movie is so scary!

Grey (2012, R, 117)

This movie was bad.  Liam Neeson did a great job acting, but the story was too far out there.  One scene there is a cliff and when they cut back it is trees…
