The story line, without needed a spoiler alert, is the idea
of Edgar Allen Poe’s last days. It is
true his last days are not accounted for, but in this story it is pure
fiction. In the movie those days would
be highly noted and not questioned at all.
It was good to see Poe and his writings put to film. However, using a real person and trying to
pass off this fiction, made for a lesser story.
Had they not used Poe, in name sake, the story was fun. Also note I love stories where Elvis lives,
Abraham Lincoln killed vampires, but those seem more credible.
